Life is...all the emotions, all the people you meet, all your regrets and all your dreams come true. This is my life is...well, my life's not boring. It's my experiences and the people that I come into contact with that make my life not boring. Enjoy!
"People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning in life. I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think that what we're seeking is an experience in being alive..." ~Joseph Campbell

Author
Professional listener
Coffee shop owner

Movies I've seen since I've been in Germany (the ones I can remember), that I hadn't seen before:
newest Harry Potter, Sin City, King Kong, Hustle and Flow (regrettably), Schule, Im Juli, L' auberge espagnole - Barcelona für ein Jahr (Mixed), Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Secretary (horrible movie), Die Fetten Jahre Sind Vorbei (The Edukators: English title) - German
Crash, Broken Flowers, Unleashed, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sin City (i understood so much more after seeing this version), 2nd season of Scrubs, Blow, Full Metal Jacket, American Pie 3 - English

Books I've read since being here:
The Sorrows of Young Werther (translated from German) by Goethe
Choke by Chuck Palahniuk
Diary by Chuck Palahniuk
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (in progress, German) by Roald Dahl
Anne Frank's Diary (in progress, translated from Dutch, German)

German Bands I like to listen to (Rammstein is not on this list):
Wir Sind Helden (Alternative)
Juli (Alternative)
Die Toten Hosen (Rock)
Die Fantastischen Vier (Hip Hop)
Fettes Brot (Hip Hop)
Söhne Mannheims (Alternative, Pop, Reggae, R&B)

Habits I've Picked up since being here:
Eating almost always with a fork and knife
Drinking Coke (it's so much better)
Walking everywhere (even places that take me an hour to walk home)
Taking a lot of pictures
Going out with people almost every week
Staying in restaurants or cafes long after I've finished my food (when I'm with people, it's not uncommon to be at these places for an hour or more)
Regularly wearing a scarf
Letting my clothes air dry
Separating trash (we have to)
Watching football (soccer to America, i think the only place in the world that calls it that)
Eating more for breakfast, less for lunch, less for dinner (makes sense when you think about your normal everydaactivitieses; do less in evenings than at the beginning)
Opening the windows in the morning to let in fresh air (yup even now, when it's 30 something out)
Drinking tea

I have no idea why I decided to type this up. Just thought it would be fun, and a further distraction from the stories I have to read for Tuesday.

About me

  • I'm Jason
  • From Marburg, Hessen, Germany
  • Living in Germany right now. Words can't express well or fast enough the experience I've had. I'm enjoying every minute of it (except the homework part). As far as personal info, you probably know me, so there's no need for useless junk you already know!
