Life is...all the emotions, all the people you meet, all your regrets and all your dreams come true. This is my life is...well, my life's not boring. It's my experiences and the people that I come into contact with that make my life not boring. Enjoy!
"People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning in life. I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think that what we're seeking is an experience in being alive..." ~Joseph Campbell

Ok, the all encompassing question that has been asked to me at least 3 or 4 times: what are you doing this summer?
Well, friends here is what it is shaping up to be: I'm going to be living down here in Anderson with a friend of mine and working at H H Gregg possibly. Now, the one factor that is not firm is that job, but there is a strong possibility of it. I know, you're probably wondering, "Jason, why aren't you working at camp? Don't you love it anymore?" or something like that. I love camp and if I had had my way, that is where I would be. Unfortunately it doesn't look that way right now.
"But does that mean you won't be at camp AT ALL?" No, simply put, it doesn't. I love camp and the unique ministry it is, and even my inability to be there the whole summer doesn't mean I won't be there at all. We'll just have to see.

I apologize that there is nothing else really new going on. I know, you're thinking "There has to be SOMETHING to talk about." Well email me, and I'll talk about it in my next post. Until then friends, remember it is only 38 days til I'm a Senior in college!

When did life go from light and enjoyable to this breakneak slipstream of time and memories flying by? I think it was somewhere after high school...

Hey folks! Well I reached my 2 week interval of writing to you all (if ya hadn't caught on that it takes me that long to get around to writing!).

I went on Spring Break last week with some awesome guys. Me and the boys and some girls went to Ft. Myers, Florida where it was so nice every day, that if I was at a nudist colony during that time, I could have walked around naked comfortably! But I didn't :) but it was very nice there, at least 70 every day and sunny. We drove around town, went to Goodwill, Lover's Key beach, and generally were just lazy. Got some coffee at Starbucks a few days, and went and saw two movies: Starsky and Hutch (yes it's a remake folks 35 and older) and Passion. Both were great, Passion very thought provoking. When people asked me if I liked it, I struggled to answer that. I couldn't answer it like I do any other movie, cause it's not exactly entertaining or enjoyable to watch, but very mind probbing. I also thought this movie was different from others, because some many other parts of myself were engaged in it, not just my mind and personal entertainment like most movies. I did think it was very powerful though and probably one of the most engaging movies I've seen in a while.

Well, to say the least SB was very nice. It came at just the right time. It sucks though now that we are back, there is snow! How does that happen?!? Ah well, spring come soon please!

Oh one more spring break note, I cut my hair. yeah it's gone. I was ready to cut it and people seem to really like it so i'm glad I made the good transition from hairstyles :)

Last note before we go...I've started to read The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I'm very impressed with the few pages I've read already.

Here is a snipet from a chapter dealing with grace that may spark your interest:
"Cheap grace is the deadly enemy of our Church. We are fighting today for costly grace. Cheap grace means justification of sin without the justification of the sinner. Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves.

Costly grace is the gospel which must be sought after again and again, the gift which must be asked for, the door at which a man must knock...it is costly because it costs a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life."

i hope you all are doing well. email me and i hope to hear from you all soon!

So ya'll I figure I ought to let you in on what has been goin on lately. Sorry, I don't like writing a whole lot of little things. That's why I wait forever and then give you all a ton to read.

Well, there was upperclassmen formal (took 3, count it 3, beautiful ladies), I've been told I should cut my hair because a girl I worked with thinks I look hot with it short, have been offered a girls phone number, there could also be another girl that may be interested (who tugs playfully on your pant leg? certainly not someone stranger!), and have finally closed a previous relationship gap. Man is that all...

Also, I've at least partially got some future plans set. I'm stayin here in Anderson this summer to work. The camp thing didn't turn out to work and it was either choose this secured job, or hold out for camp and possibly be without a job this summer. While it wasn't what I really wanted to do, I do need to work so I had to go with what I had available.

Whatelse...haven't totally figured out what next year holds, I mean where I'm going to live. But hopefully I have some roommates for next year.

Haven't seen the Passion yet either. So kill me. Gonna see it along with Starsky and Hutch over break.

Speaking of, I'm going to Florida with the boys. Pumped for that. We leave on Friday and are driving pretty much all the way down there. I'm lookin forward to it cause it'll give us all a chance to chill, fish, and chill...and see a movie, or two.

Well I think that is it. My life is fun. Hope I find someone to join the adventure.
